July’s Forearms (actually)
The actual roundup of July Forearm quotes. Thank you everyone who pointed out last month's episode was June's books. I appreciate you all!
August 2024 Wrap Up
Ya'll. This is a long episode. Take this with you on a long walk as you soak up the final rays of summer. I share the 23 books I read over the month. We had mostly wins, and a few no thank you(s).
Book Club: From Bad to Cursed by Lana Harper
We jump into spooky season with this witchy book! This is book two in the series. We talk about the book: what we liked, what we didn't, what surprised us, romance and witchy books in general.
It was so fun to finally meet Devon! Sephie's mentioned her enough that I feel like she is a secret part of the podcast. 😀
Romance Novels: The Myth of Masturbation
We debunk the story that reading romance is the same as watching porn, and that they have the same intention. AND we look at using romance novels to help set the scene for self love. We also talk nuts and bolts about what it means to "spend time with yourself" because you don't know what you don't know.
Hello Again!!!
I decided to do a reintroduction episode! If you're new to the podcast, maybe I hooked you with the forearms, you might not know why I made it in the first place.
June 2024 Forearms
I think these month by month episodes are the correct amount of forearms. We have a few books that RAVE about forearms. Enjoy these forearm loving stories.
Reader Interview with Hailey
If you want a well rounded conversation about romance books and life, you've found it! We take a finding road from Hailey's introduction to romance, to how she's evolved as a reader, to where she wants romance to go. We laugh and we laugh some more.
July Reading Wrap Up
I read 21 books. Out of those, there's only one book I didn't enjoy. I like that percentage. I did my best to keep Sephie blind for these books, so you get her reaction to my reaction.
May Forearms
In the month of May we had 10 books with forearms. I finally made this episode a quickie!!!! Enjoy.
Book Club Announcement: From Bad To Cursed
Hi All!!!
I’m giving you a bit more time for this book club episode. I will be reading From Bad to Cursed by Lana Harper with Devon, who you will meet in the episode.
That episode will go live on August 30th!
If you have any questions, comments, observations, or whatever that you want to share, send an email to jayce@jaycereadsromance.com before August 15th.
Can’t wait to get spooky season started!
Book Club: Sunstone Vol. 1 & 2
For Courtney's pick, we read Sunstone Vol. 1 & 2 by Stjepan Šejić. This is a queer, kinky graphic novel. You can hear how excited Courtney was to hear my thoughts.
June Reading Wrap Up
Had a great time sharing my reads with Sephie. I read 21 books in June. Massive spoilers!!!!! And the "synopses" are comedically short on purpose.
Book Club Announcement!
Hi ya’ll! We have our second Book Club episode landing on July 19th!!!!!
Courtney Abbott is joining me after we read Sunstone Volume 1 & Sunstone Volume 2 by Stjepan Šević.
Grab these graphic novels from bookshop, your library, or wherever you can find them. Can’t wait to share this conversation with you!
Katy Collins
I love a reader interview! Katy and I chatted about how she got into romance. What kept her connected over the years, and what she’s devoured since finding her romance passion about a year ago. We explored romantasy, contemporary romance, the diversity that now exists in the romance genre that didn't 10+ years ago.
May Reading Wrap Up
Sharing all the books I read with some insights to what I thought. Sophie and I had a BLAST!!!
Clits Are Important (Part 2)
We finish our conversation about how to media "teaches" us about sex. Where we learn, and how romance novels can positively or negatively affect us. We get into the stats I've been collecting and what we hope the future looks like.
Clits Are Important (Part 1)
In this episode, we talk about women’s sexual pleasure. How young people are educated (or not) about it. What’s changing. The literal anatomy of the clitoris. And some very personal things about ourselves.
Mel from Steamy Lit
Mel shares the history of Steamy Lit. This company (subscription box, store, non-profit, conference) was founded with the intention to champion marginalized voices. How the action we take can impact change in this world. Where we hope to see the growth in this space.
Forearms Cannot Be Stopped
This mini episode got posted a little bit early, my mistake with the audio file. Sorry! Enjoy your monthly dose of forearms.
